Friends of Sumi-e presents their 23rd Annual Japanese Brush Painting Summer Exhibition (formerly for Takasumi-e) live in Balboa Park.
Explore the world of Japanese Brush Painting: view the beautiful paintings, taste the wonderful snacks and tea, listen to the enchanting music, try your hand at origami or at our experiential table and take home your own masterpiece. Do a little shopping, too, at our Marketplace. Free Admission

Our 19th annual Taka Sumi-e Society Art Exhibition is available in a Virtual Show.
We celebrate the Year of the Tiger with Sumi-e art painted by our members, displayed in a 10 minute long presentation.
